You don’t need to be rich, experienced, or politically savvy. You just need a passion to be involved in your community and serve the residents of Delaware. We’re hosting a free workshop at Sussex County Democratic Headquarters located at 21141 Sterling Ave, Georgetown, DE 19947 on February 10th from 6:00 - 8:00pm.

Come join an open discussion in a safe space for newcomers to learn from experts like Kerri Evelyn Harris, Leslie Ledogar, and Erik Schramm.

These experienced community members can prepare you to run for office by giving you a heads up on exactly what’s involved and a roadmap for success in your campaign. Find out about everything from filing to run, all the way up to election day.

Qualifications for members of Delaware House of Representatives and Senate: 

Section 3. No person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained the age of twenty-seven years and have been a citizen and inhabitant of the State three years next preceding the day of his or her election and the last year of that term an inhabitant of the Senatorial District in which he or she shall be chosen unless he or she shall have been absent on the public business of the United States or of this State. No person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained the age of twenty-four years, and have been a citizen and inhabitant of the State three years next preceding the day of his or her election, and the last year of that term an inhabitant of the Representative District in which he or she shall be chosen, unless he or she shall have been absent on the public business of the United States or of this State.
